These are Seismic‘s new skid plates, made using some high-grade proprietary compound designed to resist wear, and tested by professional freestylers Tony Gale and Stefan “Lillis” Åkesson. They’re slightly grippier than a regular skid plate, so if you find most skids a little too slippery, these are worth looking into.

They’re also shaped considerably different to most skids; that curve along the bottom side gives something a little extra to lock onto for caspers, a better point to grab for airwalks and fingerflips, and reduces the overall weight by 5g compared to other skids of a similar size.

We sell them individually because some folks like leaving one end “au naturel”, but buy two of these and you’ll be saving money in the long term – trust us on that. Each one comes with the necessary hardware to mount it to a deck, but you will need a drill to put them on.

This particular shape works well on the Tony Gale, Lillis Åkesson, and Felix Jonsson boards from Moonshine, the Postcard from Mode Skateboards, and the tail of the Nick Beaulieu deck from Moonshine – but that deck needs a different skid for the nose.
