If you’re getting yourself a freestyle deck, you’re going to want some skid plates to go with that.

What are they, you ask? In short, they’re hard slabs of plastic to fit to the ends of the board, preventing it from being pogo’d to oblivion through razortail.

We sell these individually because this is our 135mm wide “tail skid” shape, designed to match the kicktails of older style freestyle boards with squared tails such as the Denham Hill deck and most 80s reissues. In other words, if you’ve got a Mullen Chessboard, you want one of these for the tail. Most boards will need a different shape for the other end – usually either a Yoyo skid or a nose skid – depending on the board. If you’re not sure which to use, send us an email and we’ll give you some advice on which will be the best fit.
