The raw 4.25 FILM truck has been a house favourite for freestyle setups since they were first released, but FILM have now given us a couple of new colour options in this freestyle-friendly size, suitable for using on freestyle decks between 7.25" and 7.4" wide.

This is the "Petrol" truck with an iridescent baseplate - lovely and shiny for all of the freestyling magpies out there.

We recommend coupling these with a deck such as the Moonshine Denham Hill model and the freestyle wheels of your choice.

Note that the baseplate says it's a 5.0" truck - that's only because they put this together as a special order for us, and they didn't have any printed up that said 4.25" on them!

These are Seismic's new skid plates, made using some high-grade proprietary compound designed to resist wear, and tested by professional freestylers Tony Gale and Stefan "Lillis" Åkesson. They're slightly grippier than a regular skid plate, so if you find most skids a little too slippery, these are worth looking into.

They're also shaped considerably different to most skids; that curve along the bottom side gives something a little extra to lock onto for caspers, a better point to grab for airwalks and fingerflips, and reduces the overall weight by 5g compared to other skids of a similar size.

We sell them individually because some folks like leaving one end "au naturel", but buy two of these and you'll be saving money in the long term - trust us on that. Each one comes with the necessary hardware to mount it to a deck, but you will need a drill to put them on.

This particular shape works well on the Tony Gale, Lillis Åkesson, and Felix Jonsson boards from Moonshine, the Postcard from Mode Skateboards, and the tail of the Nick Beaulieu deck from Moonshine - but that deck needs a different skid for the nose.

These are Khiro‘s standard 1″ Phillips head bolts. No fuss, no muss. If you’re using thin risers, a thicker deck than usual or trucks with a thicker baseplate, this is the length you want.

However, if you’re combining any of those two things, definitely jump up a size; 1″ won’t cut it.

Synopsis are a bearing brand from Los Angeles that have been making a bit of a buzz on the internet for a while, and we're proud to be the first to stock them in the UK.

These are their standard "Blue Rays" bearings - effectively a Bones Reds equivalent in terms of performance. If you're just looking for a good, sturdy bearing without breaking the bank, these are a good choice.

However, where they really shine is what comes in the box. Every pack of Synopsis Blue Rays bearings includes replacement axle nuts1, a full pack of eight speed washers, bearing spacers (which you really should use!) and, most importantly, a little bottle of bearing lubricant. No matter how thrashed your setup, these will get you rolling smoothly again - and keep you rolling smoothly for a long time.

1: We highly recommend you use an axle rethreader to clean up your axle ends before replacing damaged axle nuts; a heavily damaged axle is just going to strip and ruin the new nuts.

Ikkei Nagao has been pushing boundaries with his high-octane and powerful take on freestyle for a few years now, and Moonshine Skateboards has finally given him the pro model he deserves. Made with Moonshine's signature low-concave bidirectional mould, this deck takes the overall shape of the ever-popular Lillis deck and increases the length and width slightly for more stability at speed.

We can't guarantee it'll suddenly give you the ability to do 720 gazelles and 900 bigspins, but you could do a lot worse than slapping some 4.25" Film trucks under this thing and giving them a go.
