Mode Postcard Pre-Built Complete

£179

This pre-selected complete is a good all-round board, well-suited for rail tricks and ollie tricks in particular, and makes a great entry-level freestyle board for folks more familiar with street decks.

Note that the colour of the deck might vary – Mode rarely produce the same stain colour twice.

Mode "Postcard" 7.4 x 29.4

The Mode Postcard is, like Moonshine's Lillis Åkesson deck, a double kick derived from the Capital freestyle boards of the early 2000s. The big difference is that this board is almost an inch longer than most modern freestyle boards at 29.4" long. This is just short enough to still be manoeuvrable, but gives you a bit of extra space for ollie tricks - and means you don't have to reach down so far for 50-50 tricks, too!

As with all Mode Skateboards decks, this board has been personally hand-screened by Terry Synnott in Florida. Each one has been photographed by us, so what you see is exactly what you get - but these particular colourways might never be produced again, so grab your favourite while you still can.*

Specifications:

Length: 29.4"
Width: 7.4"
Wheelbase: 13.75"
Nose and tail: 5.75", bidirectional.

We recommend using a regular Offset skid plate or Seismic skid plate on each end of this board.

* We might not always have photos of the available colours - it's hard to keep up with Mode's stains and background colours!

Paris 108 Trucks

Paris are largely known for their longboard trucks, but their "street" trucks are truly top-notch. Combining solid construction with a top-quality finish, these are definitely premium trucks.

These 108mm trucks are perfect for freestyle use; coming in taller than most trucks and with a big square space on the baseplate, it's almost like they were made with stationary freestyle combos in mind.

Throw them on any freestyle deck between 7.25" and 7.4" wide and you're bound to have a great time. We recommend coupling these with a deck such as the Moonshine Kill Your Idols and the freestyle wheels of your choice.

Khiro KBAC-2 Bushings × 2

Khiro's bushings are world-renowned for their high quality and wide range of options. These are their KBAC-2 bushings; they use the same technology and design as the KBAC-1 bushings, but the top cone bushing is much taller. More urethane means more resistance and more rebound. Of course, it still has an aluminium insert to keep the bushing locked around the kingpin, so again, you don't need to use the top washer.

Not all trucks have a long enough kingpin to use these KBAC-2 bushings. Please check the measurements below before purchasing. If in doubt, go with the KBAC-1 bushings instead.

Note that Khiro's bushings come in single-truck packs, which means you'll need two packs to upgrade both trucks.

Currently we only stock these in 95a and 98a, but we can obtain other hardnesses. If you would like these in another hardness, please contact us.

Mode Freestyle Wheels

The Mode freestyle wheels stem from Terry Synnott's desire to create a wheel which covered the axle nut properly without resulting in the clunky feeling of a wider wheel. As such, the Mode wheels have a massively reduced roll surface, created by tapering away the rear of the wheel while leaving the front far enough forward to cover the axle.

NMB Bearings

Ah, NMB bearings - the classic bearing of the 80s and 90s. Chances are that if you grew up in the UK and owned a skateboard prior to the turn of the Millennium, you probably owned a set of these at some point. Cheap, cheerful and solid, these fully sealed bearings got a bit of a bad rep due to the amount of frankly awful sports store boards equipped with similarly designed clones.

Don't let that put you off. These are the real deal. No frills, no fuss - just a solid bearing which will run and run without needing servicing, perfect for every day riding.

Seismic Skid Plates × 2

These are Seismic's new skid plates, made using some high-grade proprietary compound designed to resist wear, and tested by professional freestylers Tony Gale and Stefan "Lillis" Åkesson. They're slightly grippier than a regular skid plate, so if you find most skids a little too slippery, these are worth looking into.

They're also shaped considerably different to most skids; that curve along the bottom side gives something a little extra to lock onto for caspers, a better point to grab for airwalks and fingerflips, and reduces the overall weight by 5g compared to other skids of a similar size.

We sell them individually because some folks like leaving one end "au naturel", but buy two of these and you'll be saving money in the long term - trust us on that. Each one comes with the necessary hardware to mount it to a deck, but you will need a drill to put them on.

This particular shape works well on the Tony Gale, Lillis Åkesson, Felix Jonsson and Toshiaki Fujii boards from Moonshine, the Postcard from Mode Skateboards, and the tail of the Nick Beaulieu deck from Moonshine - but that deck needs a different skid for the nose.

(Don't know how to fit skid plates? Look in the description below for a handy installation guide.)

Khiro 1" Bolts

These are Khiro's standard 1" Phillips head bolts. No fuss, no muss. If you're using thin risers, a thicker deck than usual or trucks with a thicker baseplate, this is the length you want.

However, if you're combining any of those two things, definitely jump up a size; 1" won't cut it.
