What started as a bit of a stab at the tendency for 1980s fetishism by freestylers became one of Moonshine's most popular decks. This single kick freestyle deck takes the best elements of 1980s decks and gets rid of some of the worst traits of that era; as a result, the Kill Your Idols has actually got a useable1 nose, straight rails, and a proper kicktail.

In case it's not obvious yet, this isn't some outdated reissue - this is just as skateable as the rest of Moonshine's freestyle line. Set one of these up, go out and casper to your heart's content, and prove to everyone that freestyle has moved on since 1989.

We suggest you use a tail skid for this deck. A nose skid is optional but recommended; check the video below for examples of setup options and how to use of this deck.

These are their new "Stingrays" bearings - effectively the budget option of the Synopsis line but without compromising on bearing quality.

While other Synopsis bearings come with accessories like speed washers, spacers and bearing lubricant, this pack contains nothing more than high quality bearings and replacement axle nuts1, allowing you to get back up to speed without the additional cost of accessories you may not need.

1: We highly recommend you use an axle rethreader to clean up your axle ends before replacing damaged axle nuts; a heavily damaged axle is just going to strip and ruin the new nuts.

These are Khiro‘s standard 1″ Phillips head bolts. No fuss, no muss. If you’re using thin risers, a thicker deck than usual or trucks with a thicker baseplate, this is the length you want.

However, if you’re combining any of those two things, definitely jump up a size; 1″ won’t cut it.

After the success of their first skid plates, Seismic decided to make some new shapes out of the same high-grade proprietary compound. Like the original skids, these last longer and are slightly grippier than regular skid plate material - only now you can use them on directional and single kick boards.

They also keep Seismic's curve along the bottom edge of the skid, giving you something a little extra to lock onto for caspers, a better point to grab for airwalks and fingerflips, and reducing the overall weight by 5g compared to other skids of a similar shape and size. Each one comes with the necessary hardware to mount it to a deck, but you will need a drill to put them on.

This particular shape works well on the nose of the Turi Zoltan deck from Cirus, the Denham Hill, Nick Beaulieu, and Kill Your Idols boards from Moonshine, the Deco and Mike Rogers decks from Mode Skateboards, and the nose of most typical 1980s reissues like the Mullen Chessboard. All of those decks will need a different skid for the other end of the deck, however.

It's also useable on both ends of the Toshiaki Fujii deck from Moonshine, so make sure you pick up two of these if you're planning on using this skid for that deck.
