Into the Wild is the new deck brand from Jérémie Daclin, former Cliché head honcho and current bossman at Film trucks; each deck is a limited release featuring art from a legendary skateboarder and/or artist and very unlikely to be repeated.
Jérémie tapped into his former Cliché team for this one – Javier Mendizabal rode for Cliché from 2000 until it was wound up by Dwindle in 2016. Now working as an artist, he was a no-brainer for an Into the Wild deck. This is the skinniest of the four Into the Wild decks on this “drop”, so this is one for the flatground flippers and the ledge dancers out there.

Choosing trucks for a shaped deck isn’t as simple as with a “normal” straight-sided popsicle. The widest point of this Javier Mendizabal deck from Into the Wild is 8.375″, but it narrows to 8.25″ at the front truck and just 8″ at the back.
Personally, we’d go with any 8.25″ wide truck for this one – Film’s 5.5″ trucks would be a perfect fit (and keep the setup appropriately European!), but Ace’s new AF1 44 would also work a treat.
