Into the Wild is the new deck brand from Jérémie Daclin, former Cliché head honcho and current bossman at Film trucks; each deck is a limited release featuring art from a legendary skateboarder and/or artist and very unlikely to be repeated.
Eric Dressen should need no introduction; he’s been skating since the 1970s and has had a slew of iconic pro models with Santa Cruz over the years. His deck with Into the Wild is subtly shaped and beautifully finished, with a gorgeous split-stain and wheel wells. It’d almost be a shame to skate it. Almost.

Choosing trucks for a shaped deck isn’t as simple as with a “normal” straight-sided popsicle. The widest point of this Eric Dressen deck from Into the Wild is 9″, but it narrows to 8.75″ at the front truck and just 8.5″ at the back.
Like with a lot of decks with this sort of arrangement, we recommend choosing a truck with an axle that matches the width at the front truck (like Film’s 6.0″ Raw trucks), and accepting the little bit of overhang that’ll give you at the back end. However, if you’re going for some exceptionally chunky wheels, you might want to work the other way around and choose some trucks to match the back end of the board like the Ace AF1 55s instead.
