Finally, there’s a shaped deck for the smaller skater. This Mini Mutant from Heroin Skateboards comes in at just 8.625″ x 29″, making it a bit easier to throw around if you’re on the shorter side – but also a lot quicker to move if you’re not!
If you just want a more nimble board with a bit more character to it than a generic popsicle, don’t let the length scare you; this thing will make for a lovely 360 flip.

Choosing trucks for a shaped deck isn’t as simple as with a “normal” straight-sided popsicle. The widest point of the Mini Mutant is 8.625″, but it narrows slightly to 8.25″ at the front truck and 8.5″ at the back truck.
Considering the overall width and shape of this, we’d recommend the AF1 Ace 55s – with an 8.45″ axle – but you could also get away with some classic Ace 44s (with a slightly shorter 8.39″ axle) if you preferred the performance of those over the AF1 variants.
