Choosing trucks for a shaped deck isn’t as simple as with a “normal” straight-sided popsicle. The widest point of the Mini Eyeballer is 9″, but it narrows to 8.25″ at the front truck and an amazingly svelte 7.5″ at the back truck.
With this sort of deck, you can run a 9″ truck like the Ace AF1 66s, supporting the full width of the deck and giving you the maximum grinding room and accepting the exposed wheels; you can match the axle length to the deck’s width at the front truck with something like the Film 5.5″, or you can split the difference with something that lands in the middle like the slightly larger 8.75″ axle of the Film 6.0. There’s not really a wrong answer here; normally we like to keep things tight at the front, but with a shape like this, we’d probably go for Film’s 6.0 trucks instead.
