The Ditch Witch 5 is a proper late 80s style beast – flared tail, narrowing at the back truck, 15″ wheelbase, and an upturned snub nose. We hope you’ve been practicing your sweepers and beanplants, because this is really screaming out for both.
This deck uses Heroin’s “Razortop” construction; rather than the top edge of the deck being rounded off like most decks, it’s left cut at a sharp angle to increase board feel and grip to your feet.

Choosing trucks for a shaped deck isn’t as simple as with a “normal” straight-sided popsicle. The widest point of the new Ditch Witch is 10.1″, but it narrows to 9″ at the front truck and a ridiculously skinny 8.25″ at the back truck. Yes, that’s not a typo. We double-checked.
This means you’re probably going to want a 9″ axle, leaving the back wheels exposed in a proper 1980s style; as ever, we’re going to recommend the Gullwing Pro IIIs (one track mind over here!), but the new 6.5 Film trucks or the classic Ace 55s would also do the job. There’s something for every style and budget in that size bracket now!
