When the Curb Crusher XL arrived, we thought that was the biggest board we were going to see from Heroin Skateboards – but they’ve one-upped themselves with their new Curb Crusher XXL.
The sticker on the deck and the order sheet we were given says this is 10.25″ wide, but we’ve measured it, and it’s definitely 10.5″ wide. This thing is huge. It’s also double-drilled so you can go for a classic snub-nose option or bring the front truck back for something a bit more useable at the front end. We’d always go for the snub, but hey, options are good.
This deck uses Heroin’s “Razortop” construction; rather than the top edge of the deck being rounded off like most decks, it’s left cut at a sharp angle to increase board feel and grip to your feet.

Choosing trucks for a shaped deck isn’t as simple as with a “normal” straight-sided popsicle. The widest point of this Curb Crusher XXL deck is 10.5″, but it narrows to 9.75″ at the front truck while keeping it’s 10.5″ maximum width at the back.
At this sort of size, you’re going to struggle to match the overall width; we’d recommend using a set of 10″ Gullwing Mission I trucks if we could still get hold of them (seriously guys, when are you ever going to make more trucks? Come on!), but even then you’d want to pair them with some extra wide wheels like the Seismic Boosters to make the most of the overall width.
You might also be able to get by with Ace’s AF1 77s if you use a set of Boosters, but even then you’re only going to get a 9.8″ width from edge-to-edge.
