Description
The Gullwing 9″ Pro III truck is perfect for proper-sized vert and pool decks – if you’ve been searching for the perfect undercarriage for something like a Craig Questions deck from Heroin Skateboards, look no further.
We’ve measured the Gullwing 9″ Pro III up, and we seem to get a real-world hanger measurement of 158mm, an axle of 8.9″, and a height to the center of the axle of about 57mm with the stock bushings, with a weight (including all supplied nuts and washers) of 420g per truck.
The bottom bushing is a 16mm tall barrel, and the top one is a 9.5mm tall cone. The provided bushings measure 85a on our durometer. Due to the fact the baseplate has a built-in bushing seat for barrels, we recommend sticking with a barrel and cone setup if you’re looking to put aftermarket bushings in these trucks. That’ll give you the best possible rebound and stability – you should be actively pushed out of a carve if you’ve got it set up right.
The baseplate is double-drilled, having both the new school (shorter) hole pattern and the original 80s style holes, meaning these will fit on any board in existence, whether it’s a modern shaped deck or a classic reissue.
Finally, the pre-installed kingpins are of the modern splined variety, but the baseplate is shaped to hold a hex head kingpin or nut in place without any movement at all. If you wanted to use an inverted kingpin for better grinds, this would be a perfect candidate.
