While this Torpedo graphic feels like something straight out of our alcohol-fuelled nightmares, this Darkroom deck has a fantastic shape; definitely one worth setting up and thrashing around.
(Which is ironic, but that’s a good description of what we end up doing during said nightmares.)

As the Torpedo is a shaped deck, choosing trucks isn’t as simple as with a straight-sided popsicle. Despite the fact the widest point on the deck is 9.125″, it’s actually approximately 8.5″ at both trucks, so we recommend something like the 149mm Gullwing Shadow DLX for the best fit instead of a 9″ truck like the Ace 55 or Gullwing Pro III. But hey, maybe you like the exposed wheel look, and if so, knock yourself out.
Note that Darkroom state that this deck is 31.5″ long, but we measured it as 31.375″; 31.5″ is the measurement you get if you push the tape down to follow the curves of the nose and tail along the top ply, which is not how we measure the length of a deck – we keep the tape flat in a straight line from the tip of the nose to the tip of the tail.
So if you see different measurements for this deck elsewhere, now you know why!
